Varnish
Varnish can greatly improve the capabilities of your sites. See how to take full advantage of its power.
Varnish is a content caching platform, which is occasionally referred to as a caching HTTP reverse proxy. It’s a web application accelerator that can improve the load speed of a site by up to 1000%, depending on the content itself. Whenever a visitor accesses any page on a website that uses Varnish, the platform caches the page and delivers it instead of the web server if the visitor opens it again. In this way, the web browser request from the visitor is not handled by the server and the web page will load considerably faster, as the Varnish caching platform can deliver information many times faster than any web server software. The result will be a considerably faster loading site, which means a greatly improved website browsing experience. In case any of the cached pages is updated on the actual website, the content that Varnish keeps in its system memory is ‘refreshed’ too, so the visitors won’t see old info.

Varnish in Hosting
If you host your sites in a
hosting account with our company, you will be able to activate Varnish with several mouse clicks via your Control Panel. The data caching platform comes as an optional upgrade with all our packages and you can choose how many websites will use it and the total storage space that will be available for the cached content. The two upgradeable features in the Control Panel’s Upgrades section are the number of instances and the amount of system memory and they’re not directly linked to each other, so you can choose if you need plenty of memory for one single large-scale website or less memory for several smaller ones. You can unleash the full potential of Varnish if the sites use a dedicated IP. With the Control Panel, you can quickly start/restart/delete an instance, delete the cached content independently for each site that employs the Varnish platform or view an in-depth system log.

Varnish in Semi-dedicated Hosting
All our
Linux semi-dedicated hosting packages include Varnish by default, so you can take advantage of the website accelerator tool and enhance the speed of any site that you host on our platform. You’ll get 64 megabytes of system memory exclusively for Varnish at no extra charge and you will be able to activate an instance with no more than a few mouse clicks through the Hepsia hosting Control Panel, which comes with the semi-dedicated server plans. In case you want more memory, the latter is offered in increments of 32 MB through the Upgrades section of the Control Panel and it will be available to you right away. You can also order more instances as a separate upgrade, so you can choose if plenty of data will be cached for one site or whether the available memory will be utilized by multiple Internet sites. The Hepsia Control Panel will permit you to restart or to remove any instance, to check the system log file for it or to delete the cached content using one-click buttons. To take full advantage of the Varnish accelerator, you can get a dedicated IP for the websites that will employ it.

Varnish in Dedicated Hosting
You can use Varnish in order to speed up any site that is hosted on a
dedicated server from us if the Hepsia hosting Control Panel is pre-installed on it. Not only will you get the platform ready for use at no additional fee, but you will also exert total control over it through the Hepsia Control Panel’s simple-to-work-with GUI. It will take just a click to start or disable an instance or to delete the cached content associated with any site that is using the Varnish platform and in case you are more knowledgeable, you can also see the platform’s logs. Varnish comes with no less than 3 GB of system memory for site content caching purposes, so even in case you host a huge number of sites on your server and they all use the caching platform, the difference in their overall performance will be detectable. You’ll only need to wait for a little while until Varnish caches whatever webpages the site visitors open on their end. The Varnish platform performs best when the sites use a dedicated IP address, but since our dedicated servers come with three free IPs, you will have all that you need.
